Nina Candido is a Scottish-Brazilian maker based in Glasgow, specialising in contemporary jewellery and functional objects. Drawing inspiration from folklore, mythology and childhood memory, her practice explores identity and transformation through adornment. Play and experimentation are central to her process, which combines ancient techniques with modern forms. Working primarily in metal, Nina is fascinated by the moment materials become malleable or shift from liquid to solid, and preserves this sense of movement, texture, and unpredictability within her pieces to reflect the fluid nature of the queer and mixed-heritage experience.
